Ron Herman

Ron Herman was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated magna cum laude with a BFA and Certificate in Art History from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati, and received a MFA in Photography from the University of Notre Dame.
His work is collected both nationally and internationally and is included in the permanent collections of the Fototeca de Cuba, Kinsey Institute, Snite Museum, and the South Bend Regional Museum of Art. He has photographed for Polo Ralph Lauren and Spiegel, and has lectured on his work and digital imaging technologies at Cornell, Stanford, and Yale universities.
He is an award winning educator and Chair of the Photography Department at Foothill College, located outside of San Francisco, California. He has taught in Cuba, Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Peru, and Spain; and his personal travels have taken him to 22 different countries covering four continents. He believes in the importance of experiencing life as a foreigner and using these unique opportunities to learn about other cultures, the world, and our place in it.
